About the Upper Archers PSO
Who we are, what we fund, and how the organization is run.
Our purpose
The Upper Archers PSO exists to support the students, faculty, and staff of the Great Hearts Arlington Upper School. We are the academy‑approved parent service organization for the Upper School, working in partnership with school administration.
Great Hearts educates toward truth, beauty, and goodness — verum, pulchrum, bonum. The PSO\’s job is the practical scaffolding around that: making sure teachers feel valued, classrooms have what they need, and students have a full and joyful school year outside the classroom as well as inside it.
What we fund
- Teacher appreciation — lunches, gifts, and recognition throughout the year
- Classroom support — supply grants for Upper School teachers who request them
- Finals snack sacks — twice a year, fall and spring finals weeks
- House sorting day — the annual sorting ceremony and house shirts
- Concessions — at athletics, performances, and school events
- Student events — dances, celebrations, and end‑of‑year traditions
- Volunteer coordination — matching parents to the school\’s real needs
How we are funded
Three ways: the online store, direct donations, and concessions. There are no dues and no required contribution. Participation at any level — including giving time instead of money — makes you part of the PSO.
[PSO note: add your EIN and 501(c)(3) status here once confirmed with the treasurer]
Get involved
Every parent and guardian of an Upper School student is already a member. There is nothing to join. Come to a meeting, claim a volunteer slot, or email the board — all three are equally welcome starting points.
